Auto accidents can cause hidden injuries that can develop into pain, headaches, and arthritis. Most people who have been involved in auto accidents may not even know that they've been hurt. Paradigm Chiropractic and Performance's approach to these types of injuries is to use specific chiropractic adjustments, neuromuscular re-education, intersegmental traction, modalities and therapeutic exercise to help return spinal motion. After a thorough examination, Dr. Jenkins will recommend any necessary care to help restore proper motion and position of spinal bones. If caught early, inflammation can be reduced and scar tissue can be minimized.
Paradigm Chiropractic and Performance, LLC (PCP) has years of experience in the treatment of injuries resulting from auto accidents. If you have been in an auto accident it is important you call us as soon as possible. If you have reported the accident to your insurance company and have a claim number we will bill them directly for all the services. Nothing will come out of your pocket if you have Personal Injury Protection ( PIP) on your auto insurance policy. Paradigm recommends you seek legal counsel after an auto accident. We can refer you to an experienced attorney that can inform you of your legal rights if you do not have representation. Our patients find themselves restored to pre-accident status and in most cases without long-term residual effects. Dr. Jenkins understands how an accident disrupts lives by causing lost wages and other lifestyle inconveniences. If an attorney has accepted your case, we can work with you on a lien basis, which means we will get paid when you have accepted a settlement!
Untreated auto accident injuries can lead to chronic problems
If left untreated, injuries from auto accidents can lead to chronic problems like headaches, neck pain, numbness and tingling, dizziness, insomnia, low back pain, sciatica, TMJ and Fibromyalgia. Once chronic, these physical problems become very difficult to treat-sometimes necessitating surgery. Fortunately, there is a solution-safe, natural chiropractic care.
Whiplash is a personal injury term used to describe neck pain following an injury to the soft tissues of your neck (specifically ligaments, tendons, and muscles). Whiplash is most commonly associated with rear-end car collisions in which the passenger in the front vehicle gets their head forcefully jerked backward and then forward causing injury to the structures of the back and front of the neck. Whiplash happens in auto accidents such as car crashes, auto accidents, and truck accidents, as well as during sporting activities, accidental falls, and assault
Muscles allow movement to happen by contracting and making joints flex, extend and rotate. Muscles attach on each side of the joint to bone by thick bands of tissue called tendons. When a muscle contracts, it shortens and pulls on the tendon which then allows the joint to go through a range of motion.
A strain occurs when the muscle tendon unit is overstretched or torn. The most common reason is the overuse and stretching of the muscle. The damage may occur in three areas:
Joints are stabilized by thick bands of tissue called ligaments which surround them. These ligaments allow the joint to move only in specific directions. Some joints move in multiple planes; therefore, they need more than one group of ligaments to hold the joint in proper alignment. The ligaments are anchored to bone on each side of the joint. If a ligament is stretched or torn, the injury is called a sprain.
Lower Back Pain
Auto accident low back pain is one of most prevalent types of chronic pain. The tremendous forces created during auto accident are enough to tear apart soft tissue and shatter bone. Life- altering spinal injuries is often the result of serious automobile wrecks and even minor fender benders can create some significant backache complaints. Studies prove that even an impact at 5 M.P.H. is significant to cause damage.
If you have been seriously hurt in an automobile accident, be happy to be alive. Your situation could always be worse, regardless of the extent of your injuries. Concentrate on your recovery and try to make the best of the functionality you still possess.
